To locate buried services the Sigen DT signal generator is by far the best tool for the job. Pact Services recommend the use of the Sigen DT in conjunction with the Tomkat 2 Cable Locator and Pipe Locator.
Induction mode:-
To use in Induction mode, simply stand the Sigen DT on the ground and turn the orange mode selector to the induction position.
Direct Connection:-
To operate the Sigen DT in Direct Connection mode, simply connect the Sigen DT to the service you wish to trace using the appropriate connection leads, select the connection mode on the Sigen DT, select the generator mode on the TOMCAT and trace the service.
It is advisable to always use "Connection Mode" whenever possible as this is by far the best way to trace and identify buried conductors.
